Düsseldorf icon rises again
The Breidenbacher Hof reopens today on Königsallee, Düsseldorf’s main promenade. Dating back to 1812, the storied hotel has entertained the likes of Winston Churchill, King Juan Carlos and Leonard Bernstein. It was destroyed during WWII, subsequently rebuilt and reconstructed again in 2006 for Capella Hotels and Resorts. The current incarnation rises nine stories with 95 guestrooms, a traditional German restaurant, a boutique spa with pool and a slew of high-end retailers. Less than three years old, Capella is currently developing seven other luxury properties across three continents.
